Porcellain figure. Titel TAR 2025

Archiv 01 / 2024. Various porcellain figures.

As part of a project initiated by the Alte Schule Baruth Art Association, artists were invited to engage experimentally with the material of glass. The works were based on sand from Baruth that had been prepared through an elaborate process and was worked in a studio together with regional glassmakers. My contribution was conceived as a research project exploring the connection between porcelain and glass. All works created by the participating artists were exhibited at the art association in 2025.

With the trilogy Water / Wood / Sand, the Alte Schule Baruth art and culture association has set itself the goal for 2023–2025 of placing the town of Baruth/Mark, with its past, present, and future, at the center of artistic discourse. The invited artists will engage with the themes of the trilogy, which have come into sharp focus due to society's attention to sustainability and resources, either temporarily or over a longer period of time. The artistic works once again span all artistic media, from film and photography to painting, sculpture, and installation. A special feature of this year's exhibition is a kind of cabinet of curiosities, which will be filled with special objects made of sand and glass!
